Kawasaki has officially confirmed the return of one of its most iconic names: the KLE500. After nearly two decades off the market, the model makes a fully renewed comeback for 2026, featuring a modern, rally-inspired design and components built for off-road performance.

The new KLE500 ABS will be offered in two versions — Standard and SE — and promises to be an affordable and versatile adventure motorcycle, ideal for those seeking balance between urban commuting, highway touring, and trail riding.

At the heart of the bike is a 451 cc parallel-twin engine with liquid cooling — the same found in the Eliminator, Ninja 500, and Z500 models.

The powertrain is paired with a six-speed transmission featuring an assist and slipper clutch (slip/assist clutch), ensuring smooth gear shifts and improved control during aggressive downshifting.

The structure consists of a steel tubular frame that uses the engine as a stressed member to increase rigidity. The front suspension features a 43 mm KYB inverted fork (non-adjustable), while the rear gets a new Uni-Trak shock absorber with continuously adjustable spring preload.

Wheel travel measures 210 mm at the front (8.3 in) and 200 mm at the rear (7.9 in), with 6.8 inches of ground clearance.

The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with aluminum rims and steel spokes, wrapped in IRC GP-410 dual-purpose tires. The braking system includes 300 mm discs up front and 230 mm at the rear, with switchable ABS for improved performance on dirt roads.

Riders also get a wide aluminum handlebar, slightly forward-set footpegs, and removable rubber inserts for better grip during off-road riding. The seat height is 33.8 inches (858 mm), and the fuel tank holds 4.2 gallons (15.8 liters).

Among the tech highlights, the dashboard can be a 4.3” LCD display with smartphone connectivity or, in the KLE500 SE version, a color TFT screen. This premium version also includes a larger windscreen, skid plate, handguards, and exclusive finishes.

With the launch of the KLE500 2026, Kawasaki strengthens its presence in the competitive mid-size adventure bike segment, offering a robust, lightweight, and technologically balanced motorcycle — ready for any journey.
